USASF Rule Changes 2017-18

USASF, the governing body of all star cheerleading in the United States, has released new guidelines for the 2017-2018 season.

New rules include two new divisions, Senior X-Small and Senior X-Small Coed, designed for smaller teams with fewer males who wish to compete against similar teams. These two divisions will not be Worlds divisions, however X-Small teams are still eligible to compete in the Small Senior or Small Senior Coed divisions at bid events and Worlds if desired.

Another big rules change comes to the age grid, which can be found below. Minimum ages to several division have been changed, and the number of athletes allowed on Large teams has been raised from 36 to 38. Tumbling changes have also been made for levels 1-3 and Restricted 5, along with stunt restrictions for levels 4, 5, and 6. These rule changes will be implemented at all Varsity and USASF events starting in the fall of 2017.
